Waterlogged: Pros and Cons

Waterlogged
Matchsticks that won't light
Stove that won't spark on its own
Door jambs swelling
Plywoods curling
Clothes getting damp and moldering
Plants getting overwatered
Prized succulents turning into jelly
Wrigglers multiplying exponentially
Flies and mosquitoes a-swirling
Washed clothes that won't dry
Frozen food hard to thaw
Dark places getting damp
Flooding
Athlete's foot threatening
Work and business stoppage
Forgotten umbrella
Catching a fever, cough, and cold
***
Cooking--and eating--all sorts of hot soups and brothy dishes
Seeds sprouting
Forgotten seedlings rising at the speed of light
Sweltering temps much reduced
Unwanted sweating gone
Savings on lighting, aircon, and/or electric fan
Finally getting to use 'winter' clothes from abroad/wagwagan/surplus shop
Resting from tremendous amount of work
Picking up discarded hobbies once again
Listening to various species of frogs croaking at night
Catching up on sleep
Harvesting unlimited rainwater while at it
Water table refilled
Massive irrigation of farms, for free!
***
I dunno which I prefer, but life always balances things out. My role is to ride out this season of slush till the elusive sun appears again, or I might as well enjoy it while it lasts.
